I am a 2013 graduate with a Music Education degree and I am currently a graduate student at Tufts University. Directly after graduating from undergrad, I became a full-time math tutor for Lawrence High School in Massachusetts. I was placed with the high school through the Match Corps program, run by Match Education. I am most comfortable teaching and tutoring in test preparation, mathematics, and music. I am a math tutor for all levels, including Algebra, Trigonometry, and Elementary Math. As a tutor, I see up close and personal just how elemental education is to societies. Along with being a tutor, I have also been the head teacher in classrooms in New Hampshire and in Ghana, Africa. Children in the classrooms that I have taught reacted well to my tutoring style and tend to ask questions, which is something I encourage. My teaching style is instructional scaffolding, which allows students to flex their cognitive muscles. The students that I tutor also benefit from a personal curriculum, which I develop with the help and communication of the student's teachers. I encourage open dialogue with my students so that they can safely and deeply explore any topic in the syllabus, so that they are able in order to engage in their coursework more intensely.
